On October 9, an information security laboratory was opened at Energo University, with equipment and software provided by Fortinet and X-net.
Fortinet is one of the global leaders in cybersecurity solutions. X-net is a Kazakh IT integrator, an official partner of well-known international companies in the field of computer and software technologies, offering services in the supply, configuration, and support of various information systems.
The educational laboratory was established under the Department of Cybersecurity at the Institute of Automation and Information Technologies. The opening ceremony was attended by Aybek Zhupankhan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Energo University, Yelzhan Nasipov, a representative of Fortinet, and Vyacheslav Kim, Development Director of X-net.
As noted during the event, the opportunity to study on advanced equipment and modern software will allow students of the "Information Security Systems" and "Information Security of Financial Institutions" programs to be more competitive in the job market after graduating from Energo University.
Additionally, as part of its collaboration with the university, Fortinet will provide students with access to its information and training resources. The first step in developing the partnership will be a qualification enhancement training that will soon be organized for the faculty of the Department of Cybersecurity.
