The Kurmet Order - Recognition of Scientific Leadership
Professor Nikolai Georgievich Prikhodko, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, is a leading scientist in the field of nanotechnology and has been awarded the state award, the Kurmet Order. He works in the Department of Ecology and Management in Engineering at the Gumarbek Daukeyev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, where he combines research and the training of future specialists.
His research focuses on the synthesis of carbon nanomaterials in flames. Under his leadership, technologies for producing graphene, fullerenes, and nanotubes for energy and energy storage systems have been developed. Of particular importance is an efficient and scalable method for graphene synthesis.
The scientist is also developing environmentally friendly approaches, producing graphene from plant biomass with high yields of up to 80%.
