The future of nuclear energy was discussed at Energo University
A meeting was held at Energo University following the results of the referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Kazakhstan.
Experts in nuclear energy, scientists, professors, and students discussed the issues of training personnel for the nuclear power plant and the prospects for the development of the energy sector in the country.
"The referendum on the construction of the NPP has become an important step towards energy independence and sustainable development of our country. Today, with more than 70% of citizens expressing their support for the project, we face the task not only of starting construction but also of preparing young specialists who will manage this complex but necessary infrastructure in the future. The youth is the future of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan, and universities play a key role in shaping the competencies required to work in this sector," noted Baurzhan Ibraev, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the New Nuclear Watch Institute in Central Asia.
As representatives of Energo University noted, the university already has the resources, including a quality faculty and a well-equipped laboratory base, to prepare specialists who will be able to work at the nuclear power plant in the future.
