Energo University at the SCO Rectors' Forum in Minsk
Gani Nygymetov, the Rector of Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev (Energo University), is participating in the SCO University Rectors' Forum held in Minsk.
The event has brought together heads of leading universities from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states to discuss current issues in the development of higher education, science, academic mobility, and training specialists for the economy of the future.
The participation of AUPET in the forum drives the development of new partnerships and promotes the university as a leading regional hub for the "Energy" direction across the SCO space. The forum itself serves as one of the key platforms for strengthening humanitarian cooperation and shaping a unified Eurasian academic space.
In his speech, Gani Nygymetov focused on the critical need to train specialists for the energy transition and digital transformation. In this regard, the Rector of AUPET proposed the creation of "Energy & AI"—an international platform within the SCO University framework designed to study the experience and best practices of using artificial intelligence in the energy sectors of the member states.
