Results of the II Stage of the Republican Student Research Competition in the Educational Program “Thermal Power Engineering”

On May 21, 2026, the Second Stage of the Annual Republican Competition of Students’ Research Works (SRW) in the Educational Program “Thermal Power Engineering” was held at the Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “Gumarbek Daukeyev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications”.

A total of 10 research works submitted by students from 5 higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan were reviewed by the competition committee. Overall, 14 students and 9 academic supervisors participated in the competition. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was aimed at promoting students’ research activities in the field of thermal power engineering, supporting innovative developments, and enhancing the scientific potential of young researchers.

The submitted works addressed a wide range of relevant issues in thermal power engineering, including the modeling and calculation of thermal engineering processes using artificial intelligence methods, studies of gas turbine installations, heat pumps and refrigeration cycles, improvement of water supply and water treatment systems at thermal power facilities, enhancement of the efficiency of thermal engineering equipment, as well as environmental aspects of energy system operation.

In evaluating the submissions, the competition committee considered the relevance and scientific novelty of the research, the practical significance of the results obtained, the level of development of the submitted materials, and the overall quality of the research conducted. Based on the committee’s evaluation, the winners of the Second Stage of the Republican Competition of Students’ Research Works (SRW) in the Educational Program “Thermal Power Engineering” were determined.
