Energo University students won the NASA competition
Energo University students became the best at the third global NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon held in Almaty at the American Space & Maker Space branch.
The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global hackathon organized by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and is held in over 200 cities worldwide. During the event, participants develop innovative solutions to current challenges humanity faces on Earth and in space.
33 teams participated in the Almaty hackathon, with 21 topics to choose from. The Energo University team, consisting of students from the Institute of Communication and Space Engineering and students from AUES College, chose the topic "Using Earth observation data to make informed decisions in agriculture." The team's project was named ADB (AgriDataBase). Its goal is to implement comprehensive digitalization of agriculture in Kazakhstan. The team developed an application for professionals in agriculture and agribusiness. After the two-day hackathon, the Energo University team's work was recognized as the best in Almaty! Now, the participants have submitted their project to NASA's international competition.
