AUES students Damir Mertl and Dmitry Druzin took 2nd place at the Republican Student Project Competition in AI, Cybersecurity, and FinTech.
Students of Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev, Damir Mertl and Dmitry Druzin, took 2nd place at the Almaty stage of the Republican Competition of Student Projects and Research in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech development, and digital solutions for the financial sector.
The competition was held on November 11 at KBTU and was organized by the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Almaty stage brought together 23 teams that presented projects aimed at developing financial technologies and digital solutions for the banking sector.
The AUES students’ project, “AI for Finance,” was highly evaluated by a professional jury consisting of banking experts, risk management specialists, fintech representatives, and investment fund representatives. As a result, the team took 2nd place and received a cash prize of 350,000 KZT.
