On November 24, an open lecture entitled "December Incident - Herald of Independence" was held at the Gumarbek Daukeev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, organized by the Department of "Social Sciences".
The purpose of the event is to promote the lessons of Independence among students, form a patriotic spirit, and educate them to respect their homeland and national values.
During the lecture, the director of the "Kaisar Zhurek" public foundation, journalist Shara Bulegenovna Ergebayeva, explained the meaning of the December Incident and gave a speech to veterans.
The meeting with the students was attended by:
• Members of the "December Pensioners" public association - Serikkazy Turganbayev, Klara Dinguatova, Rysbek Manuzbayev;
• Members of the “Eagles of Independence” association – Zhanaberdy Abrayev, Kalybek Telkarayev came and shared their memories as witnesses of those historic days on Brezhnev Square.
Students asked the guests questions and expressed their opinions. At the end of the event, the guests were thanked and presented with gifts.
This educational meeting was an important event aimed at forming the historical consciousness of young people and preserving the spirit of December in the memory of generations.
