Day Two of the Conference: New Partnerships and Scientific Ideas for the Energy of the Future

The XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference "Energy, Infocommunication Technologies, and Higher Education" continued at Energo University.

 

On this day, the conference officially opened, with a welcoming address by Energo University Rector Gani Nygymetov, who noted the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experience for the development of sustainable energy.

Participants were also welcomed by Kanat Baigarin, Chairman of the University's Board of Directors, and Academician Serikbek Daukei, who emphasized the university's role as a leading platform for professional dialogue in the fields of energy and digitalization.

Serikbek Daukei noted his appreciation for Energo University's dynamic development and expressed confidence that the university will continue to strengthen its status as a modern scientific and educational center.

 

The following speakers spoke at the plenary session:

* Sergey Gnatyuk, Vice-Rector of the Kyiv Aviation Institute (Ukraine): "Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity: From Research Projects to Real-World Applications";

* Elhadj Benkhelifah, Professor at Staffordshire University (UK): "Hardening the Mind: Engineering Secure AI Systems";

* Ali Corukh, Professor at Sakarya University (Turkey): "Supercapacitors as a Device that is an Important Component of Technology as Energy Management Tools";

* Karim Sartayev, Department Director, B. Orazbayev Thermal Power Plant-1, AlES JSC: "History and Development of Thermal Power Plant-1";

* Ertugan Umbetkulov, PhD, Professor, and Head of the Department of Electric Power Systems at Energo University: "Modern Approaches to Electric Power System Management."

 

Particular attention was paid to the history of the domestic energy sector. This year, the B. Orazbayev Thermal Power Plant-1 celebrates its 90th anniversary. Energo University Rector Gani Nygymetov congratulated the plant on this significant date and presented a commemorative gift to a representative of the plant.

 

During the second day of the conference, Energo University signed two international memorandums of cooperation:

– with the Kyiv Aviation Institute (Ukraine) on joint scientific research, academic mobility, and the implementation of educational programs;

– with the Centre for Research in Intelligent Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity at Staffordshire University (UK) on cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and cybersecurity.

 

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to conference participants and a gala dinner, where representatives of science and industry exchanged ideas on the future of energy and innovative technologies.
