On October 22, 2025, the 13th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Energy, Infocommunication Technologies, and Higher Education" opened at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev. The event brought together scientists, experts, and representatives of energy companies from Kazakhstan, Turkey, India, Indonesia, England, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries.
The first day included plenary sessions and eight thematic sections devoted to digital energy, renewable energy sources, nuclear and thermal energy, industrial and environmental safety, information security, automation and control in industry, digital transformation, telecommunications, and robotics technologies.
Leading experts in the energy and academic fields delivered plenary presentations. Zhakyp Khairushev, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a report entitled "Energy of the Future: People, Technology, Responsibility."
Saken Sheryazov, Professor at South Ural Agrarian University, spoke about the development of the electric power industry in Kazakhstan,
and Bakhyt Yesekina, Professor and member of the Green Economy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, discussed global climate policy and Kazakhstan's role.
Irbulat Utepbergenov, Professor of AUPET, presented the results of his research on digital transformation and management intellectualization as part of the CPS&ST Research Laboratory.
The participants then continued their discussion of current research trends in breakout sessions, where over a hundred presentations were made on Smart Grid technologies, renewable energy sources, artificial intelligence, automation of industrial processes, modern telecommunications solutions, and cybersecurity.
The conference will run until October 24.
