The delegation of Energo University visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Almaty
A delegation of Energo University headed by Rector Gani Nygymetov visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) in Almaty. The visit took place within the framework of an existing cooperation agreement between educational and scientific institutions. During the meeting with Sayabek Sakhiyev, Director General of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, issues of training specialists for nuclear energy, as well as prospects for joint scientific projects were discussed.
The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of the development of joint educational programs aimed at training specialists to work at nuclear power plants. As part of the cooperation, Energo University will undertake the training of personnel in the field of thermal power engineering, while the INP, in accordance with its scientific specialization, will train future NPP employees responsible for the nuclear part.
In addition, the issue of joint submission of applications for targeted scientific funding was discussed at the meeting. They discussed the development of small-module nuclear reactors, which could become an important part of Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure in the future.
The visit also included an inspection of the institute's facilities, including a research reactor, as well as hot chambers used to produce radiopharmaceuticals.
