EU Students Explore the Practice of "Slow Reading"

The library of Energo University hosted a discussion meeting dedicated to the practice of "slow reading".

The event's invited moderator was Victoria Mikhailova, PhD in Philosophy and Senior Researcher at the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)'s Reading Research Institute.

Participants learned how mindful reading helps improve text comprehension, develop critical thinking, and perceive information more deeply. The discussion focused on works by Wacław Sieroszewski («Книга в сибирском захолустье») and Valery Podoroga («Время чтения»), which sparked lively interest among the students.

The meeting was organized by Gulnara Abrahmatova, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences at Energo University. She noted that such events not only deepen knowledge but also open new approaches to reading and perceiving information.
