EU Educational Program Presented at the MedTech Forum

At the international MedTech-2024 forum in Astana, the dual-degree educational program "Biotechnical and Medical Systems and Devices," implemented at Energo University in collaboration with Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), was presented.

The MedTech forum has been bringing together companies and specialists in the field of medical equipment development, supply, and maintenance for four years. One of the business session speakers was Igor Fedorenko, Director of the Institute of Automation and Information Technologies at Energo University. He presented a solution to the issue of training personnel for the industry – the dual-degree program "Biotechnical and Medical Systems and Devices," launched in 2022 in collaboration with Germany’s Anhalt University. The program prepares specialists for servicing high-tech medical equipment. Students receive education both in Kazakhstan and Germany.

In 2024, as part of the program, a special training laboratory equipped with modern diagnostic equipment—such as a ventilator, a new electrocardiograph, and a neonatal incubator—was established at Energo University in partnership with Ordamed, Kazakhstan’s leading supplier and manufacturer of medical equipment. Another Kazakh company, Adamant Group, plans to supply physiotherapy medical equipment to Energo University by the end of the year.

During the MedTech forum, preliminary agreements were reached to develop further collaborations with prominent industry companies as part of the current educational program, including General Electric, a U.S. multinational corporation active in medical technology, and Kazakhstan's Bark Technology, which supplies medical equipment manufactured domestically to European countries.
