AUPET activists collected material assistance to the families of the AUPET graduates were killed and a university student injured in a Bek Air plane crash

Activists of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev held two charity events during ten days. The purpose of the events is to raise funds for the families of AUPET graduates who died in the Bek Air plane crash – Valery Anufriev and Abay Nurbekov – and the injured university student Zhanbolatova Bekzat.

The charity fair organized by the student union “Children Charity Club” on January 30, 2020 became one of such events. At the fair, visitors could purchase books and treats, and special “surprises”. In addition to the financial assistance that anyone who bought the goods presented at the fair could make, anyone could leave the wishes of a speedy recovery for the victim in the good tree.

The total amount of funds collected at the fair amounted to 325,000 tenge, excluding funds that volunteers invested.

The traditional trip of university students to the high-mountain skating rink Medeu “Frozen Party” was another event, part of the funds from which were directed to charity.

The trade union committee of university students (chairman – Amirkhan Meyirzhan) became the organizer of the trip.

All funds raised from the sale of tickets were spent on transporting participants to the Medeu high-mountain sports complex, to pay entrance tickets, skate rental and meals. All remaining money (41700 tenge) was donated to charity.

Students not only skated, but also took part in various games and relay races.

Such events are regularly organized by the trade union organization, with the aim of uniting university students and improving their physical fitness.

In total, following the results of two events, a little more than 380,000 tenge was collected, which will be transferred to the families of the graduates were killed and the student injured in the Bek Air plane crash.
