On February 18, 2020, an expanded meeting of the Academic Council was held in the assembly hall of Building D, dedicated to discussing the strategy of transforming the non-profit join stock copany AUPET into a university with a high level of scientific research conducted by initiative, creative-minded scientists teaching the main disciplines at the university using modern teaching methods and technologies .
The following reports were presented:- “About the achievement of target indicators of the Almaty University of Power Engineeringand Telecommunications named after G. Daukeev for 2019. Discussion of the draft of strategic development plan for 2020-2022 ”, speaker - President of the non-profit joint-stock company AUPET Revalde G.V .;- “Reports of vice-rectors on the implementation of the transformation strategy of Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after G. Daukeeva in the supervised areas of activity ”, speakers: Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Konshin SV, Vice-Rector for Educational Work Makhmutov SK, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities Saukhimov A.A.
Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Konshin S.V. highlighted questions about the development of a new form of entrance exam for recruiting the best applicants, attracting foreign teachers, and training young faculty for entering doctoral studies in his report.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities A. Saukhimov presented his report in the form of a presentation. He noted the growth dynamics of articles cited frequently, an increase in the number of contracts with customers, updating educational programs for undergraduates with consideration of the transition to distance learning. Vice-rector for educational work Makhmutov S.K. noted that the main tasks of educational work are: the formation of an active citizenship, patriotism, social responsibility and high moral among students. In this regard, during the reporting period, several tasks were solved: creating conditions for the civil development of students (educational work, political education); promotion and promotion of a healthy lifestyle among students; creation of favorable social conditions.
Rector of AUPET Sagintayeva Saule Sovetovna made a number of proposals: to create an electronic format for discussing a draft of strategic plan for the development of the university; to increase the role of the union of employees and students; to attract young teachers, Doctor's and Master's degree students and undergraduates to work in projects. According to the rector of AUPET, it is only through joint efforts of all employees and teachers are possible to solve the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the training of qualified personnel. It is necessary to develop some common approaches for all structures, establishing both vertical and horizontal interactions between departments and institutes of the university.
