Students and teachers of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev have been on distance learning since March 16. On April 6, they got a unique opportunity to ask questions online on our official page on Instagram @aues_university to the rector of the University Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna.
In addition to Saule Savetovna, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Konshin Sergey Vladimirovich took part in online broadcast. In online mode, more than 800 students and university teachers joined and actively participated in the broadcast. The meeting had been lasting about an hour; everyone could ask their questions in the comments.
Most of the questions addressed to Saule Savetovna related to the transition of the university to distance learning: how it will affect the week of final tests, session, vacation, practice, defense of theses and their deadlines. Students living in the hostel were interested in the technical condition of the hostel, the timing and amount of repairs, etc.
Thanks to today's technology, online broadcast has pleased all of our subscribers. Not a single question asked remained unanswered. The participants called such a “meeting” with the first head of the university necessary, because such a format is distinguished by the ease and ease of communication, there is no officialdom and timidity in asking their question.
The rector reminded that a call-center is actively working at the university, where everyone can contact. Taking into account the psychological and emotional stresses that accompany our life under quarantine and the state of emergency, the university’s psychological service has been transferred to the same format of work. Contacts for communicating with the psychologist are available on the university’s website. Our Instagram groups also have the opportunity to ask questions, get advice, learn how to organize life and relieve stress during online broadcasts.
This format of the meeting was used for the first time, convincingly demonstrating its relevance. It covered a significantly larger number of participants compared to ordinary meetings held in the assembly hall.
As a result of the meeting, the decision to hold online broadcasts and conferences on a regular basis, and not only with the leadership of the university, but also with the directors of the institutes, was made! Follow all the news!
