PREVENTION OF COVID-19 AT AUPET
An action algorithm for all institutes of university has been developed
Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev supports the decision of the country's leadership on compliance with the quarantine regime.
The algorithm of actions for all institutes during the quarantine period was developed at the university: transfer of student training, conferences, round tables and meetings of the Academic Council to the remote work mode; posting the necessary information on the university website, working in social networks. Employees providing university life support have remained in the workplace.
From March 16, a mask mode for employees and teachers who remained in the workplace was introduced. All public events are canceled. The sanitary and disinfection regimen has been strengthened. The disinfection schedule for the premises is drafted and observed. A safety instruction sheet for working with disinfectants has been developed. Spray dispensers with antiseptic agents (sanitizers) are installed in the corridors.
The Department of Youth Policy, the department of educational work, the trade union committee of students, advisors-curators carry out daily monitoring of students' moods. Student events are held in an online format on a regular basis: challenges, flash mobs, concerts, webinars, trainings, round tables, live broadcasts with university leaders, meetings of the rector with activists, various events are held. Supervisors-curators spend curatorial hours, took control of students living in the city: the list is compiled, phone numbers and email addresses are available, daily contact is maintained.
Today, 27 students live in a dormitory. Educational curators who monitor students' compliance with the quarantine and organize their life and leisure are constantly in the hostel with them. All are provided with the necessary facilities to comply with sanitary and hygienic conditions. In early April, a campaign to transfer to students living in a hostel a food package and protective equipment, which includes 15 items, was organized by the student union committee.
In the difficult period of the global pandemic for everyone, Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev could not stay away from providing all possible assistance to those who are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus.
In the framework of the republican action #Bizbirgіmiz, on April 15, students of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeev donated to the National Scientific Center of Phthisiopulmonology of the Republic of Kazakhstan the first batch of mask holders made as part of their own scientific research, which formed the basis of their startup project. On April 22, as part of the completion of Nauryz’s celebration by the university, 45 kg of nauryz kozhe, over 20 kg of baursaks, 45 liters of compote were ordered, packaged and distributed for all employees at workplaces and students living in dormitories.
The university executives work 24/7 to ensure the necessary conditions for the activities of all employees and teachers. The briefing with the directors of the institutes on actions, according to the developed algorithm, has been carried out.
We believe that quarantine is effective provided that each of us enforces it. Akimat of Almaty and other services are doing everything possible to ensure our security.
