The fight against coronavirus has long gained global proportions.
Almost from the very beginning of the state of emergency, the issue of protective equipment for both the population and medical personnel has become acute. The state is building hospitals, opening masks workshops, Kazakhstani enterprises began to produce antiseptics. Many small businesses have joined in resolving this issue by reorienting their production to tailoring masks, etc. Businessmen of the country allocated significant funds for the fight against coronavirus, purchased medicines, equipment, and protective equipment for Kazakhstani doctors.
And still this was not enough. According to official data, one third of all infected in Kazakhstan are doctors, i.e. those people who are at the forefront of the fight against this disease. In fact, they are a living barrier to the spread of insidious infection. In addition, shops, pharmacies, various city services, police, volunteers work. And all those who ensure the vital activity of the city of Almaty also need protective equipment.
The global epidemic of coronavirus has given each of us the opportunity to test our strengths and our attitudes. His responsibility, discipline, responsiveness and kindness.
To such an important matter as the provision of protective equipment for our physicians, students also joined. We already wrote that on April 15, students of the Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev donated the first batch of mask holders in the amount of 100 pieces and 25 transparent primary protection masks, made as part of their own scientific research, which formed the basis of their startup project, to the National Scientific Center of Phthisiopulmonology of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Students did not limit themselves to a one-time action and today, April 24, in the Youth Loft Center of Almaty, transparent masks of primary protection, mask holders, were transferred to all volunteers of the operational headquarters in the amount of 100 pieces. In addition, each volunteer was given packaged lunches for individual boxes, including pilaf, salad, bread and compote. Funds for the purchase of 100 servings were allocated by the student trade union committee of the university.
The director of the State Youth Policy Development Fund of Almaty and the coordinator of the operational headquarters of the StopCovAlmaty volunteers Auganbaeva Alma Kurmanovna recalled that the volunteers are real patriots of their homeland, working at no cost. On behalf of all the volunteers, she thanked the students of the Gumarbek Daukeeev Nonprofit Joint-Stock Company AUPET and noted that such support is extremely important and necessary. After all, to cope with any misfortune is possible only by joint efforts.
In response, AUPET students emphasized that at a difficult moment for the country and the city, our university simply could not stay on the sidelines, because it is not for nothing that the AUES motto is in tune with the current situation: “We keep distance, save energy, improve communication!”
