The response of the rector of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeev S. Sagintayevoy to the Statement of the Head of State of April 27, 2020
On April 27, Head of State Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev issued a statement on the situation with coronavirus infection and outlined an approach for new quarantine measures. In the next speech of our President, which, undoubtedly, is timely, the concern for the citizens of our country who have been living in a state of emergency since March 16 is reiterated. concern for the most vulnerable from a social point of view of citizens, small and medium-sized businesses, financial support for our physicians who are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic. In general, the amount of funds aimed at supporting citizens and business amounted to almost 6 trillion tenge. Moreover, having assured that in these difficult conditions no one will be left “alone” with their problems, the state will not leave anyone in trouble.
The head of state noted that it is impossible to calm down on the results achieved, since the situation remains extremely serious. “The coronavirus continues to attack the whole world. The number of cases is approaching 3 million people, and this figure will increase. The second wave of the pandemic is expected, ” K.-Zh. Tokaev.
We support the decision of the Head of State to extend the state of emergency until May 11 of this year. This correct decision is dictated by the current complex reality, which requires continued compliance with all sanitary standards, regular disinfection of workplaces, and compliance with the rules of social distance in everyday life. Despite partial relief from quarantine, distance learning will continue in universities, colleges, and schools.
It should be noted that AUPET switched to distance learning from March 16, 2020. All employees, faculty and students of the University with understanding and willingness accepted the challenge that arose before the education system, and adequately coped with the task. The team mobilized on-line, all human and material resources were involved. Theoretical training was successfully completed in a remote format, now all students are starting to pass an examination session and defend their thesis, master's and doctoral dissertations.
Particularly accurate and inspiring in the Statement of the Head of State was an appeal to our doctors and all medical personnel, law enforcement officers and the military, who steadfastly and selflessly ensure the safety of people. K. Tokayev expressed gratitude to the journalists and media workers who continued to provide citizens with timely and reliable information, to the employees of the state apparatus, who ensure the vital activity of the state and the implementation of the anti-crisis package in difficult conditions. Our volunteers despite the risks, help the needy citizens every day.
And our university does not stand aside: our students and teachers developed mask holders and special protective helmets, made as part of our own scientific research, which we donated to the National Scientific Center of Phthisipulmonology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as transferred to all volunteers of the operational headquarters in Youth loft center of Almaty. They launched and supported several challenges in support of medical workers and public utilities, law enforcement agencies, teachers and teachers, provided support to needy, nonresident and foreign students who remained in Almaty with social food packages.
