Feedback on the speech of the Head of State K.-J. Tokaev at a meeting of the State Commission on the state of emergency of 05/11/2020

On May 11, 2020, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan made a statement at the final meeting of the State Commission on the State of Emergency. He announced the end of the state of emergency, while noting that the removal of quarantine restrictions will be carried out as the situation improves. Today’s speech of the Head of State, like all the previous ones, is permeated with concern for the citizens of our country, their health and increasing incomes in the context of crisis and post-crisis development.

Building the structure of the Kazakhstan economy along the path of its self-sufficiency is one of the seven priority tasks for the restoration of the national economy, defined by the Head of State. It was noted that the energy sector, which should move towards green energy in the medium term, will require significant reforms.

In this regard, it should be noted that AUPET is actively working in this direction, participating in projects on digitalization of the energy industry, energy-efficient electricity supply and energy saving; development of renewable energy sources, automated systems for environmental monitoring of emissions and energy audits of industrial enterprises.

In addition, AUES is a university that trains environmentalists in engineering or the so-called environmental engineers (unlike other universities that train environmentalists in the humanities). It is environmental engineers who will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of "green energy". Their competencies include: to give a reliable assessment of the environmental impact of the enterprise, to develop standards for emissions, effluents, waste generation volumes, to develop and implement modern methods of environmental monitoring and control, to investigate the causes and consequences of emissions of harmful substances into the environment, and much more.

Research in the field of SmartGrid development carried out at AUPET will reduce the accident rate of routes, which will undoubtedly have an indirect effect on the ecological state of cities.

Responding to the acute problems of the transition to "green energy", the University is involved in addressing the strategic development of the energy industry and improving its legislative base. So, in September 2019, a Round Table to discuss the draft of the new Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan was organized together with the GreenAcademy Scientific and Educational Center. In March this year, a seminar was organized to discuss the Low-Carbon Development Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Specific proposals were developed and submitted for consideration by the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As in his previous speeches, the Head of State focused on improving the education and science systems.

As previously, the President noted that in recent years, the distance learning method has developed as a global process and has already become an integral part of the educational process, requiring constant improvement.

AUES, like all universities in the country, in order to prevent the spread of the virus from March 16, 2020 switched to distance learning. All employees, faculty and students of the University with understanding and readiness accepted the challenge that arose before the education system and adequately coped with the problems that arose. Theoretical training was successfully completed in a distance format. Now the examination session is nearing completion, and the time for the defense of theses, master's and doctoral dissertations begins.

Supporting the speech of the Head of State, K.-Zh. Tokaev, I once again express great gratitude to the staff and the faculty of AUPET. Together they have overcome this difficult period for the whole country and continue to fulfill the mission of training highly qualified personnel for the national economy.
