Minute of silence in memory of the victims of Covid-19 will be announced on July 13 in Kazakhstan

President Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev declared July 13th the day of national mourning.

“Throughout Kazakhstan on July 13, Minute of silence in memory of the victims of coronavirus infection will be announced,” said adviser to the President Erlan Karin.

"July 13, the day of nationwide mourning in memory of citizens who became victims of the coronavirus pandemic at 12:00 Nur Sultan’s time throughout the country, Minute of silence will be announced," Erlan Karin said.

The head of state declared July 13 a day of national mourning.

"The epidemic claimed the lives of prominent people. There are tragedies of hundreds of families behind official reports: someone lost their father, mother, brother, sister, son and daughter. I express my condolences to the families and friends of the deceased. This is a common tragedy for us all. Therefore, I made a decision to declare July 13 a day of national mourning for Kazakhstanis who became victims of a pandemic. I am sure that each of us, wherever we are on that day, will honor the memory of the dead, "the president said during a televised address to the Kazakhstanis.
