A new research center "SpaCE" has been opened in AUPET

The opening of a new research center "SpaCE - Space, Communication and Engineering" took place at Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev.

Research Center "SpaCE" is organized on the basis of the Institute of Telecommunications and Space Engineering together with the Engineeringium of the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman. Research and development in space engineering, technologies, telecommunications, robotics, electronics and programming will be concentrated in this center. The main employees of the research center will be undergraduates and students of Master’s and PhD programs wishing to engage in scientific activities. Exchange students from foreign universities will engage in scientific activities together with AUPET research students in our center. In the research center SpaCE, continuing refresher courses will be held. Specialists from manufacturing and foreign universities will conduct classes there. Also, the center involves training teams from among students for various international research competitions in telecommunications, space engineering, electronics and robotics.

At the beginning of the event, the rector of the University Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna spoke first. Chairman of the Board of the Joint Stock Company "National Center for Space Research and Technologies" Nurgozhin M.R. and Director of Engineering of the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Baumana Komekbaev A.E. also congratulated on the opening of the university.

The opening ceremony and presentation of the center took place after the speeches.Balbaev Gani Kudaibergenovich, Director of the Institute of Space Engineering and Telecommunications:

“We have agreed with the University of Rome TOP Vergata on joint cooperation and the creation of a branch“ SpaCE ”, as a scientific laboratory for them. Student start-ups will be created at the SpaCE Research Center. The center will support creative and motivated students. Also, the research center plans to deal with the issues of commercialization of the results of research carried out by its undergraduates students of Master’s and doctoral programs. "

“The aim of the center is professional orientation of students, the development of their technical skills and engineering thinking, which will further help graduates with employment, provide additional understanding of project activities and the ability to implement technical ideas in practical implementation.
