On October 2, 2020, on the Google Meet platform, an international webinar on the topic "Priorities for technological modernization of industry and energy: international experience and Kazakhstan" took place.

The organizers were the Institute for Advanced Training of the AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeev, the Scientific Center "Mining Technology" with the assistance of the Energy Center of the Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo".

The event was aimed at discussing the Instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Zh. Tokayev, presented in the Address to the people of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action" in terms of ensuring productivity growth, increasing the complexity and technological effectiveness of the economy.

Representatives of central and local government bodies, Research Institutes, business companies and Research and Production Associations took part in the webinar. These are: Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan, Non- profit JSC “International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects”, JSC “ArcelorMittal Temirtau”, JSC “CNPC Aktobe Munai Gas”, “Aktobeenergoneft”, etc.

Rector of AUPET named after G. Daukeev Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna made a welcoming speech. She thanked the webinar participants, speakers. She emphasized the importance and relevance of the modernization of production facilities, including through the transfer of the best technologies and updating the legislation. The choice of effective models of modernization and mechanisms for their implementation in practice remains one of the most difficult and significant problems for the national scientific and public consciousness.

Dr. Galiev Seitkali Zholdasovich - Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Scientific Center "Mining Technology", Doctor of Economics, Professor, with the theme "Methodological foundations of technological modernization of industry and energy in the framework of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan";

Dr. Mitrova Tatyana Alekseevna - Director of the Energy Center of the Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo", international expert and researcher in the development of global energy markets, Doctor of Economics, Professor (Moscow, RF) on the theme: "Technologies of energy transformation in the world and in Russia"

Dr. Kazhyken Meiram Zekeshuly - Director of the Institute for Modern Society Research, Dean of the Higher School of Economics of the International University "Astana", Doctor of Economics, Professor, with the theme: "Towards the Concept of the Law on Industrial Policy as the Basis of Technological Modernization of Industry and Energy in Kazakhstan."

In total, over 60 people took part in the seminar. Based on the results of the webinar, proposals and recommendations for promoting the industrial and innovative policy of Kazakhstan and sent to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be summarized.
