Our university was named after him.

Gumarbek Zhusupbekovich Daukeev was candidate of technical sciences, professor, first rector of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications. He was born on July 31, 1948 in Semipalatinsk. He graduated from the Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in 1971. Over the years, he worked as the chairman of the trade union committee of the Alma-Ata Energy Institute, was the head of the department “Scientific and technical progress” of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed the apparatus of the Supreme Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From April 1997 he worked as the rector of the Almaty Institute of Power Engineering and Telecommunications.

Gumarbek Zhusupbekovich Daukeev was awarded with medals “For Valiant Labor”, “Kazakhstan Respublikasynyn teulsizdigine 10 zhyl”.

He was the author of over 50 scientific publications, had five copyright certificates and patents.

Gumarbek Zhusupbekovich Daukeev will forever remain in our hearts.
