Sagintayev has named all the figures on the incidence of coronavirus in Almaty

Akim of the megalopolis Bakytzhan Sagintayev spoke about the sanitary and epidemiological situation and preparation for an increase in the number of infected

“Since the beginning of October, there has been an increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection in Almaty,” said Akim of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev on the air of the program Akimat Live on the Almaty TV channel.

As of November 18, the city registered:

15,325 cases of coronavirus infection;

of them with symptoms - 9 251;

no symptoms - 6 074;

unspecified pneumonia - 1,099 cases.

The indicator per 100 thousand of the population is 767.58. The daily increase is 0.2%, the reproductive number is 1.15 (as of November 17).

According to the accepted indicators of morbidity, Almaty is between the "red" and "yellow" zones. In September, the maximum decrease in incidence was recorded - 8.3 per 100 thousand of the population. In October, a gradual increase in the number of infected began. From October 1 to November 16, 900 cases of coronavirus infection and 189 cases of pneumonia were registered in Almaty.

Most of the cases are over 40 years old

Sagintayev expressed concern that almost 30% of the sick are representatives of the older generation. In particular, among patients with CVI aged 40-59 years - 288 (32%) people, 60 years and older - 240 (27%) people.

Akim of Almaty again urged the townspeople to take care of their elderly relatives, as they are most often infected by young family members.

Where does infection occur most often?

Epidemiological investigations over the past month and a half have shown that in 53% of cases, people catch coronavirus in public places - in malls, shops, markets and public transport.

Another 23% of infections occurred as a result of contact with patients with coronavirus at home, mainly with young people, in whom the disease is asymptomatic.

In 17% of cases, infections occurred through contact with patients at work. Another 4% are imported from foreign countries.

How many places are ready in Almaty in case of the second wave?

The city has prepared 32 covid hospitals with a capacity of 7,226 places, of which 250 are intensive care units.

In recent months, two new clinics have been built - an infectious diseases hospital with 500 places and a new modular hospital with 300 beds.

The work of primary health care has been strengthened. There are 298 mobile teams in 74 polyclinics. A telemedicine center has been established. Leading specialists of the telemedicine center work with patients at risk.

About medicines

In Almaty there is a stabilization fund for pharmaceuticals and medical devices worth 10 billion tenge. Within the framework of the stabilization fund, the necessary stocks of medicines for 68 names have been created with the calculation until February 2021.

Sagintayev noted that the city is ready for the deterioration of the coronavirus situation, but the townspeople themselves must show personal responsibility, observing the prescribed quarantine rules.
