The alternative type of contact studies (laboratory work) using virtual stands at the Department \"Thermal Power Plants\" of the Institute of Heat Power Engineering and Control Systems (IHPECS)

At the Department “Thermal Power Plants” (TPP) of the Institute of Heat Power Engineering and Control Systems (IHPECS), the health and safety of its employees and students is put on the first place. In the context of the unfavorable development of the situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in the world and in Kazakhstan, along with the need to continue a full-fledged educational process with laboratory workshops, an alternative type of contact training (laboratory work) using virtual stands developed by Studying technologies transit LLC (Chelyabinsk , Russia) was implemented.

At the moment, 5 educational virtual stands, completely duplicating physical analogs of installations, have been purchased and launched into active use:

1. Software educational and laboratory complex "Fluid Mechanics" FM -2V-09-12LR-01;

2. Software training and laboratory complex "Working processes of a piston compressor" WPPK-010-5LR;

3. Software educational and laboratory complex "Testing dynamic pumps" TDP-011-6LR-02-R;

4. Software educational and laboratory complex "Cooling tower";

5. Software educational and laboratory complex "Basics of gas dynamics" BGD-010-13LR-01.

The purchased virtual stands have been fully tested for functionality. At the moment, they are actively going through the approbation process with the participation of leading lecturers and students. Virtual complexes are located at: http://vlab.aues.kz, the entrance is carried out using the login and password received in the IT Department by the staff and students of the university.

At the moment, 5 virtual stands (in total, offering 41 virtual laboratory work) provide the filling of the following disciplines with laboratory complexes: Auxiliary equipment of a combined heat and power plant, Implementation of technological processes at a combined heat and power plant, Blowers and heat engines, Fluid and gas dynamics, Mechanics of liquids and gases, General heat engineering, Technological bases of production thermal and electrical energy, Thermal energy systems and installations.

In the future, the expansion of the existing virtual laboratory park, with the development of additional teaching materials, is expected. And also the possibility of carrying out laboratory work both virtually and by contact on similar physical stands in the laboratory classrooms of the AUPET is developing.
