The response to students appeals addressed to the university leadership on the organization and conduct of the session
Dear students!
On the eve of the winter examination session, there were appeals from students addressed to the university leadership on the organization and conduct of the session.
The exam as a form of control is a mandatory element of the educational process. Therefore, the examination session at the AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeнev will be held in accordance with the approved academic calendar. Considering that training in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year is carried out in a distance format, the winter examination session will be held online too. All universities in Kazakhstan have uniform requirements for conducting online exams. These are: personal identification, video recording of the process, storage of video recordings and event logs.
For this, proctoring is applied. It is a control tool that allows you to monitor the progress of a test or exam online. Proctoring makes it possible to verify (confirm) the identity of the test taker, as well as observe his behavior and what is happening on his computer screen. The goal is to make sure that the student does not cheat, does not resort to the help of other people and does not search for answers on the Internet.
If there are problems with the content of the examination questions, the student has the right to start the appeal procedure available in Platonus immediately after the exam.
If students do not have the Internet or technical capabilities to take the proctoring exam, the student can take the exam during the summer semester.
AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev has always prioritized the quality of education and the principles of academic honesty, so I urge AUPET students to fulfill all the requirements of the educational process and not succumb to the provocations of unscrupulous students, including students from other universities, who organize appeals of student youth to the Minister of Education.
For your information, proctoring began to be applied in 2008 in the United States to remotely monitor the passing of exams. The creator of this technology is ProctorU, which administers about 2,000,000,000 exams per year. More than 1,000 educational institutions in 129 countries use the services of this proctoring provider. (Source: http://www.hr-journal.ru/articles/op/proctoring.html © HR-Journal.ru).
In addition, several different proctoring systems are known today. The fact that a certain student of Nazarbayev University, Soviet Miras, created his own proctoring system, but which was not subsequently applied at the same university, takes place.
