We congratulate on the Power Engineer’s Day!

The Power Engineer's Day in Kazakhstan is a professional holiday of all workers in the energy industry, a day of recognition of their merits in the economic development of the country, in improving and maintaining the daily life of the population. Light and heat into homes, offices, hospitals and clinics, schools and kindergartens, enterprises are brought by the labor of people belonging to this profession - employees of enterprises that generate energy resources, transfer and sell electricity and heat.

The tradition of celebrating this day dates back to Soviet times, when it was established as a professional holiday in 1966 to commemorate the country's electrification program known as the State Plan for the Electrification of Russia. In the legislative system of the Republic, the Power Engineer's Day received its official status in 1998. Interestingly, the holiday falls on one of the shortest light days of the year - the winter solstice, when the work of power engineers is most noticeable.

Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications is directly related to this holiday. Our university, employees and students took an active part in creating energy networks and ensuring their reliability, since the Soviet period. And this became a good basis for the energy sector of independent Kazakhstan and a confident look into the future.
