2020 has not been an easy year for all of us. The year of the metal rat was full of challenge. Nevertheless, not without pluses, because 2020 also brought innovations. Innovations were observed in all areas, including education. But I would like to note where there are innovations, there is also a breakthrough, a step forward.

Let's summarize together:

The university, despite the current difficult situation in the education system in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, showed high results in the quality of personnel training and took leading positions in national and international rankings.

The laboratory base of the university was further developed. Joint laboratories with the Israeli company AYYEKA, Schneider Electric laboratory were established. The HUAWEI academy was opened. Branches of the laboratory of the European University of Cassino "Mechatronics and Robotics" on the basis of AUPET and a branch of the department "Space Engineering and Technology" at the National Center for Space Research and Technologies were created. At the expense of an international grant under the ERASMUS + program, the Center was equipped.

11 grant projects through the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 projects through the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, 21 projects on a contract basis were completed. The customers of the contract research were such companies as: AlatauZharykCompaniyasy JSC, KEGOC JSC, Kazteleradio JSC, Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas, ALES, etc.

The university passed the pre-qualification selection of the JSC “Samruk-Kazyna” group of companies and climbed one step having received the 2nd level of criticality (3 in total) with a rating of 88%. In addition, the university was included in the list of authorized persons of experts of the Committee on Regulation of Natural Monopolies and Protection of Competition.

All this testifies to the fact that topical research, which is in demand in the real sector of the economy, is carried out at the university.

 In 2020 (8 months), the planned amount of research funding is 54% higher than in 2019. At the same time, grant funding for Research and Development in 2019 increased by 28%, and by the end of 8 months of 2020, the same indicator increased by 50%.

The publications of the faculty reached a new qualitative level, which is confirmed by the indexation of articles in international databases and demonstrates the relevance of the research: for articles indexed by the international SCOPUS database, the growth is 86%, in the Web of Science database - 3.6 times.

 The income from educational activities compared to last year increased by 48.17%. But at the same time, the profitability of the Institute for Advanced Studies has decreased significantly.

AUPET College has successfully passed institutional and specialized accreditation in the Non-Commercial Institution "Independent Kazakhstani Accreditation Center".

Over the past 5 years, there has been a steady growth in the student population. Average growth was 22% per year. The employment rate of graduates in 2020 was 83%.

At the university, digitalization processes, increasing computer capacities, strengthening the material and technical base are actively underway.

Also, we want to note that this year we donated 800 laptops to applicants and in honor of the 45th anniversary of the university we planted 45 trees in the Park of the First President.

Thus, the results of the University's work for 2020 show the stable and dynamic development of the university in all areas of activity.
