WE MUST BECOME THE ONE NATION OF STRONG, RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE

WE MUST BECOME THE ONE NATION OF STRONG, RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, in the article "Independence is the most precious thing", which was published in the newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan", listed the achievements of Kazakhstan over three decades. This year marks the 30th anniversary of our independence. This is an important date in strengthening the revived Kazakh statehood, freedom, which our ancestors aspired to. According to the Head of State, 30 years of independence can be divided into three decades according to their role.

"I would call the first decade of independence a period of laying the foundations of a new Kazakhstan. At that time, under the leadership of Elbasy, the symbols of our state were created and the system of power was formed. Our country became a member of authoritative international organizations," the head of state wrote.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev called the second decade a period of expansion of the needs of the Kazakh people. "Over the years, the positions of our state have strengthened, our economic potential has grown. We have defined and legally established all our land borders. We have implemented the program “Madeni Mura” and carried out an inventory of our history. We have initiated congresses of leaders of world and traditional religions, summits of the Security Organization and cooperation in Europe, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia and a number of other important international projects.

Over the third decade, Kazakhstan has grown and become a proud state. Finally, we have solved the border issue. We have adopted the strategy "Kazakhstan - 2050" and are planning to enter the top thirty developed countries. The challenge for the forthcoming fourth decade is to become a powerful country and a mature nation. Along the way, it is necessary to continue the process of political and economic reforms and modernization of consciousness, to form a new identity of the nation, adapted to modern requirements, "the President noted.

In addition to economic, social, environmental, biological and other threats, "negative ideological viruses" are spreading all over the world. In our opinion, it is necessary to resist this virus precisely through the revival of historical and cultural consciousness. It is necessary to change public consciousness in order to become a united Nation of strong and responsible people. The peculiarity of tomorrow is that it is human competitiveness, and not the availability of mineral resources, that becomes the factor of the nation's success.

Therefore, any Kazakhstani, like the nation as a whole, needs to possess a set of qualities necessary in the 21st century. These are: computer literacy, knowledge of foreign languages, cultural openness. The Digital Kazakhstan program, the trilingualism program and the program of cultural and confessional harmony are part of the preparation of the nation (all Kazakhstanis) for life in the 21st century. This is part of our competitiveness. The cult of education must be universal. The technological revolution is leading to the fact that in the coming decades, half of the existing professions will disappear. No era has known such a rate of change in the professional appearance of the economy. And we have entered this era.

In these conditions, only a highly educated person who can relatively easily change profession precisely due to a high level of education will be able to live successfully. Therefore, Kazakhstan today is among the most advanced countries in the world in terms of the share of budgetary spending on education. Every citizen of Kazakhstan must understand that education is the most fundamental factor in future success. In the system of youth priorities, education should come first. If education becomes the main value in the system of values, then the nation will be successful. It is very important to achieve openness of consciousness, which means three features of consciousness. First, understanding what is happening in the big world, what is happening around your country, what is happening in your part of the planet. Secondly, the openness of consciousness is the readiness for changes brought about by the new technological order. Thirdly, it is the ability to adopt someone else's experience, learn from others. Openness and receptivity to the best achievements, and not a deliberate repulsion of everything “no one’s own” is the key to success and one of the indicators of open consciousness.

OUR ROOTS AND OUR FUTURE ARE IN HISTORY!

For every nation, its history is sacred. It is in his history that he finds strength and his unbending spirit, his true heroes, who led the people to progress and freedom, affirming eternal ideals - love for their native land, love for life, procreation, peace and creation.

In this regard, the article of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev "Independence is the most precious thing" makes us turn again to our history, to understand deeper the tragedy of the 18th-20th centuries in the history of the Kazakh people. Having lived for almost 30 years in independent Kazakhstan, we begin to realize even more fully what a great country our ancestors left us not only in terms of territory, but also in terms of the greatness of the historical events that took place here.

Here, on the territory of our homeland, for the first time in Eurasia, the domestication of horses took place, metallurgy was mastered, bronze and iron were smelted. The chroniclers of Persia and Greece wrote about the ancient Saks as about invincible warriors - horsemen.

The Saki left us the mounds of their leaders all over Kazakhstan, dressed in clothes with gold decoration, made at the highest level of jewelry art and there are no such finds in any other country in the world! The territory of Kazakhstan was the center of the world empire of the Turks, the basis of the empire of Chinghis Khan.

Today, a number of prominent historians admit that the Turkic Empire and Chinghis Khan laid the political, legal, military - administrative, state foundations of governance, and most importantly, the foundations of Eurasian integration, which became the political strategy of the XXI century.

The Kazakh Khanate became a continuation of these traditions of government. The dynasty of Chingizids was at its head. The Chingizids retained their statehood and their borders until the 20 years of XIX century. Therefore, the history of nomads - our ancestors, is still waiting for its objective study and definition of the role of nomads in world history.

The history of the Kazakh people in the 19th and 20th centuries was full of oppression: humiliation of the Kazakh national spirit, suppression of national uprisings by colonialism, Russification up to the genocide of the 1930s. There are: a two-fold change in the alphabet of the Kazakh language, the loss of the traditional cattle-breeding economy, the destruction of the elite of the Kazakh national intelligentsia, a change in the borders of the state, a ban on the study of their history, knowledge of their native language, atomic explosions in the Kazakh steppes.

Of course, many pages of our long-suffering history were objectively revised during the period of independence. The names of the repressed intelligentsia were returned to history, large-scale work under the Cultural Heritage program was carried out, the historical worldview is being formed, very important projects under the program “Rukhani Zhangyru” continue.

But, unfortunately, history has always depended on politics. The continuation of its objective study, the restoration of historical truth remains an important component of the historical science of our days. In this connection, the address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev to the history of our people and state gives a new impetus to work on further objective writing of the history of Kazakhstan, free from templates, ideological and political frameworks.

Each historical epoch leaves a legacy of its spiritual and moral content, unique cultural achievements, legal and political precedents, its leaders and its progressive ideas and humanistic ideals.

Each nation  undergoes transformation, its ups and downs in the context of the world-historical process, responds to the challenges of the time and is looking for its own path, trying to preserve its uniqueness, language, faith, traditions and the land inherited from their ancestors.

The Kazakh people more than once fell into the whirlpool of history, experienced difficult times, which dictated new rules, or were at the peak of victories. And each time these perturbations were accompanied by the transformation of the people's worldview, their social consciousness and culture.
