“Automation and Control”: AUPET is open for cooperation!

Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev is always open for cooperation and exchange of experience with Kazakh universities. So the ways of partnership cooperation are developed by the Department “Automation and Control” of AUPET and the Department “Automation and Telecommunications” of the Taraz Regional University named after Dulati.

The Head of the Department “Automation and Telecommunications” of Taraz Regional University named after Dulati, Professor Mukhtar Dzhunisbekov was familiarized with the potential and capabilities of the Department “Automation and Control” of AUPET.

In 2020, in the group of educational programs related to automation, the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications received the largest number of grants in Kazakhstan - 343. Almost 100 people entered the paid department in various forms of education in 2020 for the educational program "Automation and Control".

The authority of the Department “Automation and Control” of AUPET consists of many components. One of the most important is the staffing. The knowledge and experience of reputable professors is complemented by the desire of young teachers to contribute to the development of the department and the university as a whole. Now the children of those who graduated from the university with a degree in “Automation and Control” in the 90s study at AUPET, as well as the younger brothers and sisters of graduates of the last decade - this is the most valuable sign of recognition of the quality of education.

At the same time, AUPET has always stood out for its material and technical base. For 20 years the Department “Automation and Control” has been developing partnerships with the Kazakh representative office of Siemens (Germany) and its partners. Competence Center for Industrial Automation together with another global brand - Schneider Electric (France) is being created at the university. Cooperation with the representative office of Honeywell Corporation (USA) is reaching a new level.

Another important result of recent years is the laboratory of automated control systems for technological processes based on modern equipment from the Russian company “Tornado Modular Systems”. The Department “Automation and Control” is equipped with equipment from such reputable companies as National instruments (USA), B&R (Austria), Aries (Russia) and others.

          At the meeting, the head of the Department “Automation and Control” Igor Fedorenko and his colleague from Taraz Regional University named after Dulati Mukhtar Dzhunisbekov discussed the possibilities of organizing academic mobility of students in AUPET and training for faculty. They reviewed the curricula of both universities, exchanged views on the activities of the republican educational and methodological council for this group of educational programs.

         The head of the department of Taraz Regional University named after Dulati examined the available training stands. Their service engineers told him about their functionality. Teachers of the Department “Automation and Control” became interested in the experience of the Taraz Regional University named after Dulati in organizing two diploma education with foreign universities. According to a joint program with the Technological University of Lublin (Poland), students study for two years in Kazakhstan and for two years in Poland.

The meeting showed that the exchange of experience and contacts between universities are useful for each of the parties. Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev is always open for such mutually beneficial cooperation!
