On the 9th of February, 2021 the poetry event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Mukagali Makatayev "Life intertwined with poetry" was held online at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.
The invited guests - researchers and popularizers of M. Makatayev's creativity in different spheres of culture, faculty and students of the university, students of boarding school №15 of the Almaty region took part in the event. The online meeting was moderated by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Berlibayev Bakdaulet Turbekovich. During the event, the guests shared their thoughts on the deep philosophical and artistic significance of Mukagali Makatayev's work. Faculty and students of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev read the poet's poems, asked questions to guests, expressed their opinions.
Makhmutov Serik Kapanovich, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, vice-rector for educational work of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that there is no Kazakh who does not know the name and verses of the great poet Mukagali Makataev.
Student Oner Arshyn (group STTk-20-3) read the poet's poem "Omir zhaily" ("About life") in Kazakh.
The head of the lexicology department of the Institute of Linguistics named after Akhmet Baitursynov, Candidate of Philological Sciences Amirbekova Aigul Baydebekkyzy revealed the rich world of Mukagali’ images, drew attention to his beautiful subtle comparisons from the world of nature, plants and animals, which the poet very aptly uses in his works, in her report "The Artistic World of Mukagali Makatayev".
Director of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of the Kazakh Scientific Pedagogical University named after Abai, professor, laureate of the State Prize "Daryn", Honored Worker of Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, art editor of the magazine "Mukagali" Kozhagulov Tokkozha Mukazhanuly told in his speech "The image of Mukagali in Fine Arts "about the influence of the poet's work on the works of contemporary artists and sculptors.
Students read the poet's poems in the Kazakh language: Toktar Bekaidar (gr. RETk-20-6) "Ei, omir" ("Hey, life"), Nepbai Merey (gr. EEk-20-11) "Ush bakytym" ("Three happiness ").
Maria Sorokina, student of the group AU-20-6- read the poem "Ak kayin" ("White birch") in English.
Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, professor, music editor of the magazine "Mukagali" Beibut Daldenbaev, in his report "The modern process of popularizing the poetry of Mukagali Makatayev in music", revealed a deep and organic connection between the poetry of Mukagali Makatayev and music.
The head of the AUPET dombra orchestra Bauyrzhan Kumisbek sang a song to the verses of Merfufkb Makatayev.
Professor of the Department “Social Disciplines”, Candidate of Historical Sciences Mukhamedzhan Kuanysh Shakirtovich spoke about his personal perception of the poet's work. He read Mukagali's favorite poems and noted that his poetry entered the treasury of Kazakh culture of the twentieth century.
A student of the EAEMK-20-1 group Tursynzhan Gulnaz read the poem "Okinbeimin" ("I do not regret") in Kazakh.
An evenе in memory of the Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev was organized by the departments “Social disciplines” and linguistic knowledge, the office of "Rukhani Zhangyru" of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.
During the meeting, students learned a lot of information about the work of the great Kazakh poet of our time, Mukagali Makatayev. His poems remain popular among the people for their vitality and simplicity. These are poems about the people, homeland, native language, the beauty of nature, love, honesty, justice. The poems "Sarzhailyau" by Mukagali Makatayev have become a folk song. He translated into the Kazakh language Russian classics, foreign literature, including "Leaves of Grass" by W. Whitman, "Divine Comedy" by Dante, "Sonnets" by Shakespeare and Russian poets: A. Pushkin, N. Nekrasov, A. Blok. His name stands along with the names of the classics Abai and Auezov.
The guests of the evening in memory of Mukagali Makatayev expressed their gratitude to the organizers. They noted that although the university trains specialists in the engineering and technical profile, great attention is paid to educational work, issues of spiritual development, familiarization with national culture.
Mukagali Makatayev's poems have become that priceless treasure of Kazakh culture, which carry the ideas of love for the motherland, honesty and nobility, becoming the spiritual basis for educating young people.
