The period of study in colleges is planned to be shortened. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov, Tengrinews.kz reports.

“Today, at the legislative level, the norm on setting the terms of study in colleges has been excluded. We plan to reduce the duration of study from 3.6 to two years on the basis of 9 classes and from 2.6 to 1.5 years on the basis of 11 classes.

Colleges will regulate the terms of study independently, and will be able to sell their own products," - the minister said at a government meeting.

Aimagambetov also noted that this year the modernization of 180 colleges will be completed. Thus, at least seven modern colleges with a developed material and technical base, new curricula and programs will operate in every region.
