We congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Science!

The professional holiday of Kazakhstani scientists coincided with the great achievements of space discoveries. In 1961, on April 12, the famous cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on the Vostok-1 spacecraft took off from the Baikonur cosmodrome and for the first time in the world made an orbital flyby of the planet Earth. This is a significant event in the history of Kazakhstani science, since it was from the territory of Kazakhstan that the first "leap" of mankind into Space was made.

Today, during the crisis period associated with the global pandemic, the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, poses large-scale tasks for scientists to carry out fundamental research at a global level, develop innovations, and turn scientific achievements into a demanded economic and social product. In this direction, significant work is carried out in the Non – profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications" named after Gumarbek Daukeyev (hereinafter referred to as AUPET). Conditions have been created to involve faculty-researchers, students of Master’s and PhD programs, undergraduates. There are 5 scientific and technical centers, 6 research laboratories, 3 educational research laboratories at our university. AUPET scientists confidently declared themselves at the world level, publications in world-renowned scientific journals, publications of patents and other objects of intellectual property are growing.

We are justly proud that the famous scientific schools in Heat Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering have been preserved in AUPET. Their experience and high potential is an example for the younger generation. Today, more young people are going into science, mastering the skills of research work.

AUPET scientists contribute to the future of science in Kazakhstan. There are your experiences, knowledge, active civic position in your hands, which will contribute to the achievement of conceived scientific achievements, the development of the intellectual potential of our state.
