Non-profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" acted as a partner of the lectures of the popular science event in Kazakhstan - the Second Nobel Festival - "Inventing the Future", dedicated to the Day of Science in Kazakhstan.

The organizers dedicated the second festival to large-scale transformations in the field of technology and innovation in three areas: the economy of opportunities, the industry of the future and EdTrends (educational trends). For five days, students of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev had an exclusive opportunity to ask scientists their questions at the Nobel Lecture Week on the ZOOM platform.

The festival program was focused on the issues of reengineering education, the development of smart cities, the creation of an economy of opportunity and sustainable development. Students attended 13 online lectures of Nobel Prize Laureates in physics, fundamental physics, chemistry, mathematics, medicine from such scientists as:

Kamran Wafa winner of the 2017 Breakthrough in Fundamental Physics Award – “Mysteries of the Universe”;

John Mather of 2006 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics - “Looking at the History of the Universe with the James Webb Space Telescope”;

Ifan Wang, winner of the 2016 Breakthrough in Fundamental Physics Award - "A Quest to the Infinitesimal";

Christopher Hackon, Breakthrough Prize Winner in Mathematics 2017 – “Geometry of Algebraic Varieties”;

Lyman Page & David Spergel 2018 Physics Breakthrough Prize Winners - "The Cosmic Microwave Background as a Probe for Fundamental Physics and the Evolution of the Universe."

In total, 14 unique researchers spoke during the Nobel Lecture Week. They have received international vocations and world-class scientific awards. All lectures are available for viewing on YouTube - the Nobel Fest channel.
