WE CONGRATULATE YURI ALEXANDROVICH TSYBA ON THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY!
Professor of the Department “Electrical Machines and Electric Drive” of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev Tsyba Yuri Alexandrovich on May 04 celebrates his 75th Anniversary.
Since 1969, Tsyba Yuri Alexandrovich has gone through all the stages of his career. He began his career as an engineer at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, immediately after graduating from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute. He worked as a junior, senior researcher and managed to combine scientific work with teaching at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute and Almaty Energy Institute.
In 2002, Yuri Aleksandrovich defended his Ph.D. thesis in the specialty "Electro technical Complexes and Systems". In 2004, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakstan, he was awarded the academic title "Docent" in the specialty "Electrical Engineering". In 2008, by the Decision of the Academic Council of the Almaty Institute of Energy and Communications, he was awarded the academic title of "Academic Professor".
The scientific activity of Yuri Alexandrovich is devoted to the development and study of energy-saving modes of operation of the electric drive of centrifugal pumps and gas-pumping units in the oil and gas industry on the basis of modern achievements of science and technology. He also worked on energy-saving automatic control systems for the electric drive of drawing and rolling equipment. Working as a leading designer in an industry laboratory at the Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant, he proposed new principles for the construction of automatic control systems for the electric drive of drawing mills. They are protected by copyright certificates. These principles were introduced by the Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant. As a result, a series of mills VPCZ-4/550 of the Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant was produced. For the inventions introduced into production, Yuri Aleksandrovich was awarded the title "Inventor of the USSR".
During his work, Yuri Alexandrovich showed himself as a scientist and teacher. He combines methodical work with scientific research. The results of these studies in the field of modern automated electric drive systems are successfully used in the educational process. At the same time, Yuri Alexandrovich has a consistently high rating among AUPET professors. And according to the results of a regular survey among students, he is among the best teachers.
Being engaged in research work, Yuri Alexandrovich actively attracted students to it. Under his leadership, the students of the department won prizes at scientific and technical student conferences held at AUPET, and in Republican competitions for the best student research work in the section "Technical Sciences and Technologies". This is noted by the corresponding certificates and diplomas of the I and II degrees of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Yuri Aleksandrovich has 135 scientific and methodological works, including 19 teaching aids, 10 lecture notes, 26 methodological instructions, as well as 7 inventions and 3 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are used in the educational process in the Kazakh and Russian languages.
