PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS FROM COVID-19. The MEDSUPPORTKZ community of doctors and scientists held a webinar on vaccination against coronavirus infection for teachers and students of AUPET

The health and safety of employees, faculty and students are top priorities at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. The university leadership is closely monitoring the situation in the country. On a regular basis, special measures are taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. There are:

- vaccination against COVID-19 in the State Enterprise on the rights of economic management "City Student Polyclinic" of the Public Health Department of Almaty was organized;

- information about the epidemiological situation in the country on the official portal; published regularly

- webinars on relevant topics: "How to ensure a safe epidemiological environment?", "How to protect yourself and others from COVID-19?" and others are being held.

This week, the MEDSUPPORTKZ community of doctors and scientists, exclusively for AUPET, held a live webinar on vaccination against coronavirus infection. Doctors told the audience how the vaccine works, why the vaccine was developed so quickly and why do people who have been ill need the vaccine?

The speakers of the webinar were:

Akilbekova Dana - PhD, professor at Nazarbayev University, founder of Medsupportkz;

Mulikova Tomiris - scientist, researcher at Nazarbayev University, coordinator of Medsupportkz;

Tursunova Akmaral - human rights activist, founder of Medsupportkz.

The Doctors told the webinar listeners about the history of vaccination and its importance in human life. They explained in detail how the vaccine works using the example of Sputnik-V. They explained in plain language how the components of the vaccine work. The doctors spoke about the composition and effect of the vaccine on the human body. They also talked about possible side effects and existing contraindications.

More than 100 listeners attended the webinar. The online event lasted 1.5 hours. The number of attendees did not decrease until the very end of the webinar. This indicates the interest and social responsibility of the employees, faculty and students of AUPET.
