FOREVER IN THE MEMORY OF THE PEOPLE!

In the online format, the Department “Social Disciplines” of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Dukeyev held a round table dedicated to the Great Victory Day. The theme was: "Kazakhstan and the Second World War" in the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the event, the results of the republican competition of student works (essays) on the theme: "The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family" were announced.

Serik Kapanovich Makhmutov, vice-rector for educational work of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev, addressed the participants of the round table with a welcoming speech. According to Makhmutov S.K., the largest bloody event of the 20th century is immortalized in the memory of the people. The feat of our ancestors is in our memory and will never be forgotten.

Unfortunately, today there is a tendency to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic War, the history of the Second World War. In a number of European countries, attacks on the outcome of World War II intensified. The statements of certain politicians on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory sounded especially cynical. The Great Patriotic War and the victory in it are among the most tragic and at the same time heroic pages of our common history. They unite fraternal countries on the basis of historical memory, a common understanding of the ideals of peace, humanism and good neighborliness. The purpose of the republican competition of student works (essays) on the theme: "The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family" at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev is to foster a sense of Kazakhstani patriotism, a sense of pride in national history. For this, it is necessary to popularize the feat of our ancestors among the younger generation.

According to Bolat Zholamanovich Kabdushev, head of the department of social disciplines, head of the Rukhani Zhagyru project office, the goal of the competition is to foster a sense of Kazakhstani patriotism, to form a sense of pride in national history, respect and preserve the historical continuity of generations. And this is increasing the interest of students in the Patriotic history, perpetuating the memory of the Victory.

The speeches and reviews of the participants of the round table were presented by: Kokebaeva Gulzhau Какar Kakenovna - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of World History of the Institute of Ethnology and History named after Sh.Sh. Ualikhanov; Aldazhumanov Kaidar Seysembayuly - candidate of historical sciences, professor, leading researcher at the Institute of Ethnology and History Sh.Sh. Ualikhanov; Zhylysbaeva Marziya Kanievna - Deputy Director of the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

So, according to Marziya Kanievna Zhylysbayeva, back in 2015, the book “Kazakhs on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. 1941-1945" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory was published in Kazakhstan. The book was prepared by the staff of the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Documentary evidence of the unprecedented feat of the sons and daughters of the Kazakh people on the fronts of the most terrible war in terms of human losses is included in the book. In the album offered to the readers' attention, documents, mainly from archival funds and collections of personal origin, stored in the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, were included. Personal archives of twice Hero of the Soviet Union Talgat Begeldinov, Hero of the Soviet Union Malik Gabdullin, world famous warrior and military leader, fearless Panfilov soldier Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, front-line writers Azilkhan Nurshaikhov, Dmitry Snegin and others. everyday life taken from the archival fund of Sardarbek Akpanbetov - a participant in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, a soldier, a photographer are included in the book.

Wartime letters and other written documents are given in facsimile. Information for the book was taken from family archives, where documentary relics about the bloodiest war in human history have been preserved. Materials from central republican and front-line newspapers are widely used in the book. Many of the published documentary artifacts are little known or have already been forgotten. These include documents from the funds of the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and the Archive of New Documents of the Republic of Poland.

The participants of the round table unanimously expressed the opinion that the holding of the republican competition of student works (essays) on the theme: "The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family" is of great importance in the upbringing of the younger generation. It implements such educational tasks as: the formation, development and formation of the personality on the basis of national and universal values, the formation of solid foundations of morality; education of citizenship and patriotism, love for their homeland - the Republic of Kazakhstan; the formation of the need to participate in the socio-political, economic and cultural life of the country; study of the history of Kazakhstan.

According to the professor of the Department of Social Disciplines Dina Serikbekovna Orynbekova, work on the patriotic education of the younger generation should not be limited only to the celebration of memorable dates in the history of the Fatherland. Young people must continue to be educated on the heroic past of our Motherland. A nation that does not remember the past has no future either. The further away from us the events of the Great Patriotic War, the more important it becomes in the history of mankind, the significance of the Great Victory for the preservation of peace, the preservation of civilization. And therefore, it is fundamentally important that every citizen and the whole society do not lose the vivid memory of the Great Patriotic War, do not forget about the pages of their family history.

In the course of the round table, the presentation of the collection of materials of the Republican competition of student works (essays) was held.

At the end of the event, the results of the republican competition of student works (essays) on the topic: "The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family" were summed up and the winners were awarded.
