On May 19, 2021, as part of the implementation of the AUPET transformation strategy into a research-type university until 2025, the grand opening of the educational and scientific laboratory "Security of wireless networks and construction of cryptosystems" took place. The laboratory was opened at the Omar Turganbek Scientific and Technical Center "Information Security Problems". The head of the Center is a candidate of political sciences, academician of the International Academy of Informatization, associate professor of the Department of Information Systems and Cyber Security Berdibaev R.Sh. Turganbek Kalievich enjoyed great authority among colleagues and students. The idea of implementing this Scientific and Technical Center was realized thanks to his perseverance and intelligence. Subsequently, the university administration unanimously assigned its name to the center.

Also, the Educational Scientific Laboratory "Security of wireless networks and the design of cryptosystems" will be used to carry out scientific research and organize the educational process. Students of the Educational Programs "SIS" together with the Department of Information Systems and Cyber Security and Master students of the Educational Programs "SIS", "IS" and "CS" will undergo practical training and do research work with the leaders and staff of the Center.
