On May 25, 2021 in Ukraine (Kiev), the opening of the First Climate Dialogue between Kazakhstan and Ukraine "Decarbonization of the economy and green finance" was held

Within the framework of the forum, the rector of "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" Sagintayeva Saule Savetovna and Deputy Director of the "Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" Shulzhenko Sergey Valentinovich signed a cooperation agreement.

The parties agreed to develop cooperation and carry out joint scientific research and work on the prospects for the development of the energy industry at a high world level in accordance with the practice applied in the states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

In accordance with the Cooperation Agreement, the partners are planning joint scientific research in the following areas: development and improvement of methods and tools for researching the long-term development of the fuel and energy complex; development of scientific foundations for determining energy efficiency indicators and energy consumption levels, taking into account intersectoral and sectoral structural shifts; economic research and forecasting of the development of the coal industry; development of methods and means of energy economic analysis and optimization of the structure and modes of production management.

Implementation of joint activities in the field of development and introduction of high-tech technologies into the industry; creation and implementation of a mechanism for the commercialization of scientific developments; organization of seminars, conferences, trainings, round tables are important aspects of cooperation.
