DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATION from the point of view of KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING is a new topic for discussion by scientists from Kazakhstan and abroad in the webinars of Professor Utepbergenov

Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev has become an interesting platform for scientists from various countries to discuss many important topics related to IT technologies, digital systems and research of automation and control systems.

What are scientists from around the world working on now? What have they achieved and what are their scientific researches directed at? These and many other issues are discussed at each of the webinars initiated by Doctor of Technical Sciences Irbulat Utepbergenov. He is a research professor at the Department “Automation and Control” of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. 

Already by the titles of the reports, one can judge a wide range of topics covered. There are "Research and management of unstable and deterministic chaotic regimes of dynamical systems", "Problems of assessing the reliability of scientific information", "Data processing in reconfigurable systems". Scientists from the University of Aveiro (Portugal), Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (Russia) and Kazakhstani universities - Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov (Nur-Sultan), Karaganda State Technical University, Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev and the University “Turan ”(Almaty) took part in the presentation and discussion of which in March and April 2021.

The next webinar will be held in May. The report "Digital transformation of education: updating the content and organization of educational work" will be presented. This topic Bulat Kubekov, professor of the Department “Computer and Software Engineering” of the University “Turan”, puts forward for discussion. He believes that the problem of digital transformation of education is now not considered from the point of view of knowledge engineering. At best, the practical side is affected, but the area of automation and construction of the next system or control environment.

Professor Kubekov is convinced that the problem requires a radical revision of the entire content of education using new formats and technologies for representing knowledge. Since the whole world is moving towards artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, this requires everyone involved in education to rethink their participation and their place in improving the QUALITY of educational services. This is a very difficult task, and not everyone can and wants to do something and, above all, transform themselves.

B. S. Kubekov's scientific interests are related to knowledge engineering and the application of the ontological approach in education.
