​ Entrance examinations for PhD programs will be held for the first time in electronic format in 2021

The entrance examinations for PhD programs will be held for the first time in electronic format. The Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov spoke about this in the project “Antikor.Live”.

“For the first time last year, we conducted an electronic admission to the Master’s programs in a pilot mode. This year this format will be fully implemented. We saw this mechanism is very correct and effective in terms of eliminating of corruption risks. Now admission to the Master’s programs will be carried out in electronic format on a permanent basis,” said Askhat Aimagambetov.

According to the head of the department, last year the electronic testing format was successfully tested upon admission to the Master’s programs.

The head of the department stressed that the transfer of public services to electronic format will help eliminate all barriers and risks.

In addition, Askhat Aimagambetov spoke about the development of a new system for paying scholarships to students. The idea is that scholarships for undergraduates, students of Master’s and PhD programs go directly to the card accounts of the recipients. Previously, scholarships were transferred to universities, which, depending on the progress of students, awarded scholarships themselves. The pilot project has already started.
