The number of educational grants will increase by 5 thousand in 2021. Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov spoke about this during a briefing at the site of the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“For the next academic year, 51,561 grants were allocated for Bachelor’s programs, including those under the program “Serpin”. In addition, the allocation of another 5,000 grants within the framework of the “Roadmap” for the implementation of the electoral program of the Nur Otan party is envisaged. Thus, the total number of grants for bachelor's programs will be 56,561 grants, for Master's programs - 13,263 grants, for PhD programs - 1,890 grants. Grants for personnel training are allocated for the areas in demand,” the head of the department noted.

Askhat Aimagambetov also stressed that to increase the availability of higher education, the number of grants will be increased by 50% until 2025.

We add that every year young scientists receive 1000 grants, and 500 Kazakhstani scientists within the framework of the program “Bolashak” this year will undergo training in recognized world scientific centers.
