JUNE 25 THE ADMISSION OF DOCUMENTS TO THE KAZAKHSTAN COLLEGES STARTS: 97 THOUSAND GRANTS DISTRIBUTED

On June 25, 2021, admission of documents to colleges begins in Kazakhstan. The admission procedure will be carried out according to the new rules. In addition, the list of quotas for those wishing to study for free has been expanded. Today the Director of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nasimzhan Ospanova spoke about the innovations live on the official page of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Facebook.

The entrance exams have been canceled this year, with the exception of exams in the teaching, medical and creative professions. The competition will be held according to a certificate: according to the average score of compulsory and specialized subjects.

In addition, to ensure transparency and accessibility of education, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed a new mechanism for distributing grants on the principle of “money for the student”. That is, if earlier grants were distributed between colleges of education management, now the state order will be placed among colleges at the choice of applicants.

Applicants will be able to apply to colleges in two ways: through the "electronic government" portal Egov.kz or directly at the college. Prospective students can choose up to four majors and up to four colleges. The competition will be held through the information system according to the average competitive score of assessments of compulsory and specialized subjects reflected in the certificate. Graduates wishing to study in pedagogical, medical and creative specialties will take special, creative exams or interviews. The commissions formed at the colleges will conduct them.

“The competition is divided into two stages: from August 19 to August 22, the state order will be distributed among applicants entering the 9th grade. Among the 11th grade graduates is from 22 to 25 August. If there are unallocated places, the redistribution of the state educational order among the unreached applicants is carried out. Information about enrollment for training under the state order will come to the applicant's personal account. Enrollment in colleges will end on August 31,” said Nasymzhan Ospanova, director of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Today, 795 colleges function in the country, of which 454 are state-owned. Grants will be received by 435 public colleges and 170 private colleges. For the 2021-2022 academic year, the state educational order has been formed in 10 areas and more than 200 most popular specialties for 97 thousand places.

“This year the list of quota categories has been expanded. Now quotas are provided for 9 categories. Added a 5% quota for children from large families, 1% - for children from single-parent families with this status for at least three years, 1% - for children from families raising children with disabilities from childhood, invalids of the first and second groups. In case of equality of points, the quota category and the average score of the certificate will be taken into account,” said Nasimzhan Ospanova.

In addition, this year, for the first time, all graduates will have the opportunity to undergo professional diagnostics through the information systems of education departments. Diagnostics is intended to assist graduates in choosing a profession and is advisory in nature.
