\"Delta-strain\" KVI leaves no choice but to get vaccinated, \"Sagintayev said

“Akim of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev, during the live broadcast of Akimat LIVE on the Almaty TV channel, spoke about the complication of the epidemiological situation and urged Almaty residents to be vaccinated to protect their health,” reports zakon.kz.

According to him, the epidemiological situation in the megalopolis continues to worsen due to the spread of the "delta" strain, recorded by specialists of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the city on June 18.

In this regard, studies for the presence of mutated CVI strains were continued. On July 1, out of 88 samples taken from patients with CVI, it was revealed: in 67 samples - "delta" (76%), in 14 (16%) - "alpha" (British), in two - of unknown origin, three results were negative (3, 4%), in one (1.1%) - COVID-19 (Wuhan). Studies from July 3 showed that out of 45 patient samples, 35 (78%) had the "delta" strain, 6 (13%) had "alpha" and only one (2.2%) had COVID-19 (Wuhan). , - reported in the akimat.

At the same time, experts state a continuing increase in the proportion of symptomatic patients with CVI. Compared to the previous 7 days, this indicator increased 1.5 times, from 46% to 73%. This is due to the prevailing circulation of the delta strain, which causes more severe clinical manifestations of CVI.

According to the akimat, the analysis of the age composition over the past two weeks showed the previous "targeting" of the virus to children and young people due to the high contagiousness of the delta strain. Thus, the proportion of sick children under one year of age increased by 0.7%, to 2.8%; up to 14 years old - by 0.4%, up to 15%; adolescents 15-19 years old - by 0.8%, up to 5.2% and citizens 40-59 years old - by 1.5%, up to 24.7%.

“In this regard, residents of the city need to pay special attention to the condition of children and adolescents, and, if possible, limit visits to crowded places. Middle-aged representatives should also strengthen compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety measures,” Sagintayev said.

In terms of employment, over the past 14 days, the incidence of CVI still prevails among the self-employed - 35%, employees of various LLPs, individual entrepreneurs, JSCs - 19%, pensioners - 17.4%, as well as schoolchildren - 10.3% and preschool children - 7%, accounting for 89% of the total number of cases.
