Abish Dosmuratov, a resuscitator of the Phthisiopulmonology Center, said that all 30 beds of the intensive care unit are in use. The number of infected people has increased 1.2 times over the past week. Over the past day, 1,540 more cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Almaty, in July there were already about 20 thousand infected. Hospitalization is increasing proportionally to the number of detected cases. If a month ago 40-70 patients were hospitalized per day, now the number of hospitalizations has increased 10 times.
The reason for the growth was the spread of the "delta" strain, which is more contagious and more often causes severe clinical manifestations.

“The virus has become more contagious, we have all the beds in the intensive care unit occupied. Our hospital was redesigned into a covid hospital. There is a daily increase in patients. To stop the chain of infections, you need to get vaccinated. This is the only protection measure today, ”says A. Dosmuratov.

Another resuscitator of the Phthisiopulmonology Center, Nursultan Yerzhigitov, said that there were unvaccinated patients in hospitals. Their immunity was unprotected when faced with a severe virus.

“We will be able to declare the pandemic defeated only when Almaty residents are vaccinated. This is the only way to stop the coronavirus outbreak and its further spread. There is no other way to defeat the covid, ”says N. Erzhigitov.

Daniyar Zheysembayev, another anesthesiologist, resuscitator of the Phthisiopulmonology Center, who has been treating patients with CVI since the beginning of the second wave of coronavirus, agrees with him. All this time, the doctor has been saving people's lives practically without days off and holidays. He said that during his work, about 400 patients passed through the intensive care unit.

“Today, almost 80% of patients are infected with the delta strain of coronavirus. It is more dangerous and even cunning, aimed at young people. Today we see that young people are entering the intensive care unit, the virus does not spare anyone. You can protect yourself by wearing masks, avoiding public places and getting vaccinated. Vaccination has shown its effectiveness and safety, therefore it is necessary to be promptly vaccinated in order to prepare immunity, ”D. Zheysembaev urged.

There are 4930 patients in hospitals, including 240 children. 3563 hospitalized - with moderate severity, 1207 - in serious condition. There are 310 people in the intensive care and intensive care units, including 160 in critical condition.
