WE CONGRATULATE DOSTYAROV ABAY MUHAMEDIYARULY ON 70th ANNIVERSARY!

Dostyarov Abay Mukhamediyaruly is an academician of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, organizer of education and production. He is a well-known scientist in Kazakhstan and abroad, who focused in his works on the problem of microflame combustion of fuel in gas turbine plants and fuel-burning devices for various purposes.

Dostiyarov Abay Mukhamediyaruly was born on August 21, 1951 in the village of Demyanovka, Uzunkol district, Kostanay region. After graduating from high school in 1969, Abai Mukhamediyaruly entered the Moscow Higher Technical School named after N.E.Bauman (MVTU), which was founded in 1830 and is a well-known Russian technical university in the field of rocketry and aircraft. At the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the teaching staff consisted of outstanding scientists and their students, who created exemplary departments and unique laboratories. AM Dostyarov graduated from the Department of E3 "Turbine Engineering", the founder of which was the famous professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences VV Uvarov.

After graduating from the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 1975, he was sent to Kazakhstan to the newly organized Almaty Power Engineering Institute (AEI - now the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev) as an assistant at the Department of Heat Power Plants. He taught classes in the following disciplines: "Steam and Gas Turbines" and "Transport Engines". However, the desire to continue his studies in graduate school led him again to the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. After successfully passing the entrance exams in 1978, Abai Mukhamediyaruly became a graduate student of the Department of EZ. His scientific interests were formed under the influence of a prominent scientist, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences A. I. Leontyev and Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yu. M. Pchelkin. Under the leadership of Yu.M. Pchelkin, Abay Mukhamediyaruly was engaged in the study of microflame combustion in the combustion chamber of a gas-turbine engine and developed an original design of the front-line combustion chamber of a transport gas-turbine engine.

During his postgraduate studies, Abai Mukhamediyaruly, together with the staff of the E3 Department of the Moscow Higher Technical School named after N.E. Bauman, became the author of ten copyright certificates and was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Moscow City Committee "For the best scientific work" in 1981. Based on the results of these studies, Abay Mukhamediyaruly defended his candidate dissertation in 1982. Then he continued his work at the Almaty Power Engineering Institute as a senior lecturer, associate professor, then in 1986 he was elected dean of the Heat Power Faculty.

A. M. Dostiyarov devoted a lot of effort and energy to the training of young specialists for the power engineering of Kazakhstan and the development of science in the field of heat power engineering. Here his abilities as a highly qualified teacher and researcher were manifested, he was the scientific director of several economic contractual topics. As a leader, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan "For the best student scientific work" in 1988, the sign "Inventor of the USSR" in 1990.

A.M.Dostyarov showed organizational skills during the period of leadership of the heat and power faculty of the AEI - he intensified educational and methodological work, student self-government, organized work to introduce the results of scientific research into the educational process. In many respects, the Faculty of Heat and Power was the leader. During this period of the 1988-1989 academic year, with good indicators, the heat and power faculty and the AEI successfully passed the state comprehensive certification of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the USSR.

In 1989, for high performance in educational, methodological and scientific work, the photograph of Abai Mukhamediyarula adorned the Board of Honor of the AEI and in the same year he was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Kazakh SSR for high performance in educational and scientific activities.

In 1991 he went to work at the newly organized Alma-Ata Automobile and Road Institute (AARI - now the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications named after M. Tynyshpaev). In April 1992, Abay Mukhamediyaruli was elected Dean of the AARI Department of Transport. During his work at AARI, being a member of the Academic Council of the university, he paid great attention to scientific and methodological work, methodological provision and organization of the educational process of the new university.

At AARI, Dostyarov A.M. continued to conduct scientific work with his students: A.A.Kibarin, E.T. Zhanburshin, M.E.Tumanov, who successfully defended their Ph.D. theses.

In 1995, he was transferred to work in the Office of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the head of the department of technical universities of the republic. Here he showed new qualities: knowledge of the legislative acts of the USSR and other countries in the field of education, the basis for the development of state standards for specialties of higher education. A.M.Dostiyarov is a co-author of more than 10 basic rules and regulations of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the fundamentals of the activities of universities, published from 1995 to 1997. For merits in the development of higher education, he was awarded the badge "Excellence in Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

From 1997 to 2002 he was sent to Shymkent to work on uniting 3 pedagogical universities - Shymkent Pedagogical Institute named after M. Auezov, Shymkent Pedagogical Institute of Culture named after al-Farabi and Shymkent Pedagogical Institute of Physical Culture - to South Kazakhstan Humanitarian University named after M. Auezov in the position vice-rector. And then, after the merger of two universities (SKSU and SKTU) into the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, he was vice-rector for academic affairs, first vice-rector and acting rector, where the number of students enrolled exceeded 25,000, and the number of teaching staff, providing the educational process was more than 1300 people. During this period of work in Shymkent, Abay Mukhamediyaruly showed firmness of character, versatility and versatility of his activities, as well as the ability to focus on the main thing and showed communication skills. The fundamental nature of A. M. Dostiyarov's education made it possible to maintain a good attitude and recognition of scientists of a technical profile and scientists of the humanitarian direction.

Working at M. Auezov SKSU, A. M. Dostiyarov defended his doctoral dissertation in 2000 on the topic: "Development of a TSU with MF combustion and methods of their calculation" in the specialty "Industrial heat power engineering" at the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Energy named after Ch. Chokin.

In 2001, A. M. Dostiyarov was awarded the academic title of professor with a degree in Power, Metallurgical and Chemical Engineering. In the same year he was elected a full member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In May 2002, M. Auezov SKSU successfully passed the state certification and A.M. Dostyarova. awarded the badge "Honorary Worker of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

In July 2002, A.M.Dostyarov was appointed deputy head of the department, then head of the department of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

While working in the Ministry, he took part in the development of a new Concept for the Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2015. Under the program of the German Academic Exchange Service, in 2003 he visited the technical universities in Ilmenau and Dresden, as well as the Mining Academy in Freiberg and the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt, where he got acquainted with the educational programs of higher education in Germany.

In January 2004, Dostiyarov A. M. moved to work as vice-rector for educational and methodological work at JSC "Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications named after M. Tynyshpayev".

During the period of Abay Mukhamediyarula's work, the vice-rector of the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications named after M. Tynyshpayev was put on a qualitatively new level of educational and methodological work in the academy; training on credit technology for bachelors in 15 specialties was organized; methodological recommendations for the preparation of the Educational Methodical Complex of Discipline according to the new state standards of specialties have been developed; distance learning technology was introduced at KazATC named after M. Tynyshpaeva.

Scientific works of Abay Mukhamediyarula in the field of microflare combustion of associated petroleum gases have been introduced and are used in more than ten oil and gas fields of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For his significant contribution to science, A. M. Dostiyarov in 2005 was awarded the badge "For services to the development of science in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Since 2006, he worked as Deputy General Director of Spetstekhservice LLP. During this period, he was engaged in the construction of the "Service Center for Gas Turbines" plant in Atyrau, overhaul of the units Gas Turbine Boilers 10I, Gas Turbine Boilers 10-4, etc.

In 2009, Dostyarov A.M. was transferred to the position of deputy general director for production and development of "Kazturboremont", in design and construction, which he himself participated in. In a short time, the plant's employees mastered the repair, modernization and installation of the following turbine gases: Gas Turbine Boilers -10I (GE), Gas Turbine Boilers -10-4 (NZL), - Gas Turbine Boilers 10-01 (DP-59L) and an aircraft engine NK-12ST.

In 2010 and 2011. Dostiyarov A.M. participated in the construction of the Asian gas pipeline, specifically in the installation of a gas turbine compressor station with Rolls-Royce turbines.

From November 1, 2011, Dostiyarov A.M., by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was sent to the Kokshetau State University named after Sh. Ualikhanov as vice-rector for scientific work and international relations. Knowing that modern universities should be focused on research activities, he actively took up the formation of research infrastructure at Sh. Ualikhanov KSU.

From February 2012 to August 2015, he worked as a professor at the Department “Heat Power Engineering” at the LN Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

From September 2015 to June 2019, he was a professor at the Department “Heat Power Engineering” at the Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after V.I. S. Seifullin.

In 2017, under the leadership of A.M.Dostyarov, Umyshev D.R. successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications.

From 2017 to 2020, he was the head of the IRN project No. AP05134025 "Research and development of microflame front-line devices, complex technical solutions in order to improve the environmental safety of gas turbine installations in Kazakhstan" funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2018, A. M. Dostiyarov was awarded the academic title of "Corresponding Member" of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. A. M. Dostiyarov was awarded the Order of Catherine the Great for his service to science and education by the decision of the Academy of Natural Sciences.

From September 2019 to the present, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Thermal Power Plants and Management and Entrepreneurship in Engineering at the Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev.

On December 02, 2019, the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences awarded Abay Mukhamediyarula a medal named after A. Nobel for his contribution to the development of invention.

By the decision of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in 2019, A. M. Dostiyarov received the honorary title "Honored Worker of Science and Education". Also, in 2019 he was awarded the Order  “Labore et Scientia - Labor and Knowledge”.

In 2020, the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded A. M. Dostyarov with A. Baitursynov's gold medal for his contribution to the development of the country's higher education system and to the training of a new generation of specialists.

In 2020, Abay Mukhamediyaruli was awarded the honorary title of the founder of the scientific school "Microfire Combustion of Fuel".

In 2021, under the leadership of Abay Mukhamediyarula, doctoral students Katranova G. S and Yamanbekova A.K. successfully defended their doctoral dissertations and received a PhD.

Dostiyarov A.M. is the author of over 220 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 12 textbooks. Has 64 copyright certificates and patents. Under his leadership, 7 candidates of sciences, 1 doctor of technical sciences and 3 doctors of PhD were trained.
