“In Kazakhstan, since September 1, scholarships for students of Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs of Kazakhstani universities have been increased. The Ministry of Education and Science has reported this,” Tengrinews.kz reports.
“Scholarships for students of Bachelor’s programs have been increased by 20 percent, for students of Master’s and PhD programs - by 15 percent,” the Ministry of Education and Science said.
"If translated into figures, scholarships for students of Bachelor's programs have increased from 26 186 tenge to 31 423 tenge. University students studying in pedagogical specialties, instead of the previous 42 000 tenge, will now receive 50 400 tenge. We have fulfilled the instructions of the President and significantly increased the scholarship of future doctors. Instead of 26 186 tenge they will receive 50 400 tenge. We also recall that in January, scholarships for students of Bachelor's programs on behalf of the Head of State was increased by 25 percent. In fact, over the past two years, scholarships for students of Bachelor's programs have been increased almost twice, "- said Vice Minister of Education and Science Kuanysh Yergaliyev.
It is noted that scholarships for students of Master's and PhD programs and interns have been increased. If earlier students of Master's programs received 66,913 tenge, now their monthly scholarships is 76,950 tenge. Scholarships for students of PhD programs increased from 150,000 tenge to 172,500 tenge, for interns - from 47,431 tenge to 59,289 tenge.
All changes and additions were made by a government decree to the rules for the appointment, payment and size of state scholarships to university students.
