Today at AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev a meeting of the Union of Power Engineers has been held. The theme was "The prospect of building a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan: necessity and opportunities."

Dulkairov Marat Turganbekovich, Director of the Union of Power Engineers of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the seminar. Further, B.B. Mukatov, Chief Dispatcher of the “National Dispatch Center of the System Operator”, made a report on the current state of the nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan.

The seminar participants discussed the choice of possible NPP options for Kazakhstan and answered questions.

A general discussion and summing up of the results were held at the end of the meeting.
