The monograph "Decarbonization of Extractive Industries of the Republic of Kazakhstan" published under the editorship of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Geological Sciences, Serikbek Daukei, prepared by a team of authors based on the results of the scientific researches of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev, Eurasian Mining Academy of Sciences, Scientific and Educational Center “Green Academy”, Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov, Institute of Hydrogeology and Geoecology named after U.M. Akhmedsafin, “QAZGEOLOGY” National Geological Exploration Company JSC, Kazakhstan Institute of Oil and Gas, International Scientific Complex “Astana”, Center for Green Finance of the AIFC.

In the monograph, based on the generalization and critical understanding of the international research in the field of global energy transition, for the first time in Kazakhstani economic science, the conceptual foundations of the global energy transition are developed, the state and key indicators of decarbonization of the extractive industries of the national economy are analyzed, and the prospects for the introduction of low-carbon technologies in the fuel and energy and mining and metallurgical complexes of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the light of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
